The Virginia Choral Society

There are several ways that patrons and friends of choral music can support VCS during the course of a concert year.  In additional to attending concerts and encouraging friends and neighbors to attend one of our concerts are are some additional ideas that provide direct support to VCS.

a.  VCS Capital Endowment Fund.  Please refer to the information at endowment fund.

b.   GOODSEARCH.  Using GoodSearch (which uses the Yahoo Search Engine) provides VCS with a $.01 for each search.  Set your browser's home page to www.goodsearch.com and you can identify the charity/non-profit of your choice and then proceed to use GoodSearch just as you would any other search engine.

c.  GOODSHOP.  Using GoodShop, each vendor listed will donate a % of your purchase to VCS (your non-profit choice).  The % varies by vendor, but there are many very well-known vendors that have chosen to use this method.  Some of the vendors are such names as Amazon, Target, PetSmart, Barnes & Noble, BestBuy, Home Depot, Macy's and over 100 more.  Set your browser's home page to www.goodseach.com and the lower half of that page is for GoodShop.  For example, one can see that "Old Navy" will provide a 2.5% donation.  Several flower (florists) will donate 7% of the sale. 

d. Virginia Diner Peanuts and Products. One A delicious way to provide support to VCS is by purchasing Virginia Diner products either from VCS members or at the Virginia Diner website, www.virginiadiner.com .  40% of your purchases from the website  are provided to VCS to support the operational requirements of the choral society.   When you click on "Start Shopping", you will need to identify VCS as the non-profit group.  VCS is located in "REGION" at the"VIRGINIA-NEWPORT NEWS" choice and there you'll find "Virginia Choral Society, Inc". You may then begin shopping.

Twice a year, Fall and Spring, VCS has a Virginia Diner fund-raising campaign to raise funds for VCS operations.  From this member-led campaign, 50% of the sales are returned to VCS to help with costs for orchestra, venue rent/support and other operating needs of the society.
